Top performers not applying? Here's how chatGPT can help

The most talented people are often NOT looking for a job.

This means that when someone applies for a public job offer, the probability of that person not being a top performer is usually a lot higher.

After hiring 200+ people and interviewing 1000+ individuals, I feel your likelihood of finding top performers is much higher when you actually outreach directly to some candidates.

But how do you find these top performers? How do you make sure that someone is already a fit before you reach out?

Believe it or not, chatGPT can help you be 10x more productive for that exact task. And get this kind of reply from top candidates 👇

Step #1: Create the perfect prompt

Turning ChatGPT into your personal LinkedIn talent scout begins with crafting a detailed prompt.

Here's our handy formula you can follow 👇

In this instance, we'll craft the perfect prompt designed to take a job description and transform it into stellar LinkedIn search criteria.

Here are the LinkedIn search filters we'll use in our prompt 👇

And here’s the prompt you can copy:
(Don’t forget to add your job description at the end 😉)

{{copy1}}

Step #2: Bring the prompt to life!

Let's see this prompt at work. I'll show you how I used this very approach to find my Chief of Staff.

Take a look at the results I got from ChatGPT:

What’s interesting is that each search is targeting a specific range of functions, interests, and profile types I wouldn’t have thought of.

However, the answer is not yet specific enough as it’s putting things like “Top startup with $100M+ in funding”.

That’s why we need a follow-up prompt:

And here’s what I got this time 👇

Step #3: Begin your LinkedIn search

Armed with these varied search criteria, it's time to hop on LinkedIn and start your talent hunt, guided by the answers provided by ChatGPT:

Step #4: Reach out on LinkedIn

From the people that came out of this search, I selected the people that caught my eye and send them a message.

My message was always pretty straightforward, as I think that’s usually what works best when hiring 👇

And received replies like this one 👇

Fast forward a month, we interviewed 20 candidates for the Chief of Staff position, and we hired a superstar to join lempire 🚀
